My name is Shaalin Sehra (she/her), and I am a PhD student and NASA FINESST grant recipient in the Gaia Lab at MIT. I explore water-driven surface processes on Mars and analog environments on Earth, using remote sensing and computer modeling coupled with fieldwork/labwork.
Currently, I am using remote sensing to analyze landslide deposits in the Valles Marineris of Mars and doing fieldwork/lab experiments to study stream channels in Cape Verde, an analog for Mars. I am also using flume experiment videos to study grain transport, as part of my work with the Perron Group.
When I’m not studying rocks, I love to climb them and teach others to climb!
